Our History |
Speer Cushion Co. was founded in 1958 by Irv and
Suzie Speer and was operated out of their garage in Holyoke,
Colorado.
The business’ origin
was in the manufacturing of
mattresses but expanded into
farm equipment seating within
several years. |
|
 |
The company moved to its current location
in 1960 and quickly expanded its product
line to include industrial equipment seats, in addition
to swather canvases and truck tarps. |
In 1974, Irv and Suzie retired and sold the business
to their son and daughter-in-law, Wallace and Ruth
Dusenbury from Reisterstown, Maryland.
Sales territories and distribution channels
were expanded and OEM-manufactured
products were introduced into the company's line of products, which provided customers
with even more comprehensive seating solutions. The facilities
were enlarged with the addition of over 40,000 square feet of
warehousing space. |
|
 |
In 2000, Wally and Ruth retired and daughter Debra took
over as company President. Debra had returned to Holyoke in
1990 to assume the position as Vice President, Support Services
and has been instrumental in developing new production techniques
to control manufacturing costs, as well as adding new
products to the company’s ever-expanding line. |
Facing strong competition from overseas producers and OEMs, we
are continually working hard to bring the same quality products to our customers that we have always been
known for, while maintaining fair, reasonable prices. The future holds great potential for Speer Cushion in the expansion of custom product production and specialty restoration of not only seats, but
also complete interiors. |
To our faithful customers, thank you for your continued
support. We look forward to supplying you with Speer Cushion
Company products and services for many years to come.
To those of you who are new, we appreciate your consideration
of Speer Cushion Company products and hope that we
can supply you with our quality products. |
